1.) For Appreciation of Each Other We thank you, Father, for the gift of Jesus your Son who came to our earth and lived in a simple home. We have a greater appreciation of the value and dignity of the human family because he loved and was loved within its shelter. Bless us this day; may we grow in love for each other in our family and so give thanks to you who are the maker of all human families and our abiding peace.

2.) Dear Lord, As we gather together around this table
laden with your plentiful gifts to us,
we thank You for always providing
what we really need
and for sometimes granting wishes
for things we don't really need.
Today, let us be especially thankful
for each other--for family and friends
who enrich our lives in wonderful ways,
even when they present us with challenges.
Let us join together now
in peaceful, loving fellowship
to celebrate Your love for us
and our love for each other. Amen.

3.) Lord, as we bow our heads to pray, We celebrate Thanksgiving Day.
Help us have the right attitude,
As we turn to you in gratitude. Thank you for our festive mood;
Thank you, Lord, for this good food;
Thanks for blessings great and small;
Thank you, thank you for it all.

4.) In Gratitude Thank you, Father, for having created us and given us to each other in the human family. Thank you for being with us in all our joys and sorrows, for your comfort in our sadness, your companionship in our loneliness. Thank you for yesterday, today, tomorrow and for the whole of our lives. Thank you for friends, for health and for grace. May we live this and every day conscious of all that has been given to us.
--Michael Buckley--
5.) Our Father in Heaven, We give thanks for the pleasure
Of gathering together for this occasion.
We give thanks for this food
Prepared by loving hands.
We give thanks for life,
The freedom to enjoy it all
And all other blessings.
As we partake of this food,
We pray for health and strength
To carry on and try to live as You would have us.
This we ask in the name of Christ,
Our Heavenly Father.
--Harry Jewell--
6.) O God, when I have food,
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work,
help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home,
help me to remember those who have no home at all;
When I am without pain,
help me to remember those who suffer,
And remembering,
help me to destroy my complacency;
bestir my compassion,
and be concerned enough to help;
By word and deed,
those who cry out for what we take for granted.
Amen.
-- Samuel F. Pugh--
7.) Give me a good digestion, Lord, and also something to digest;
Give me a healthy body, Lord, and sense to keep it at its best.
Give me a healthy mind, good Lord, to keep the good and pure in sight;
Which, seeing, sin, is not appalled, but finds a way to set it right.Give me a mind that is not bound, that does not whimper, whine or sigh.
Don't let me worry overmuch about the fussy thing called "I."
Give me a sense of humor, Lord; give me the grace to see a joke,
To get some happiness from life and pass it on to other folk.
--Thomas H. B. Webb--
8.) Thank You, Thank You, Generous God! Thank You, thank You, thank You, generous God!
You have injected life with joy, thus we know laughter.
You have dabbed creation with color, thus we enjoy beauty.
You have whistled a divine tune into the rhythm of life, thus we hear music.
You have filled our minds with questions, thus we appreciate mystery.
You have entered our hearts with compassion, thus we experience faith.
Thank You, God, Thaank You. Thank You!
--C. Welton Gaddy--

11.) Lord God,
I give you all the members of our family. You know them all so well and love them all. I ask that you would cover us with a rainbow of hope.
Hope that draws us together to work out our differences.
Hope that helps us to celebrate together and care for one another.
Hope that rides like a banner in our lives and watches our us wherever we go.
Hope that overcomes adversity and gathers strength to overcome.
Hope that guides us and gives us vision for our future alone and together.
Hope filled with love.
Hope that fuels faith.
Hope that breathes peace.
May our family live in you
Underneath your promises.
Amen.
12.) Dear God,
You made a beautiful world,
With sun so warm and light.
With grain and fruit to nourish us,
With streams so clean and bright.
Help us to care and keep it safe,
With wisdom, thought and deed.
With respect for all it offers us
With generosity, not with greed.
We pray for those who suffer,
With lack of rain for crops.
With hunger and such poverty,
With war, grief and loss.
Guide us, as we work and play,
With strength to learn and share.
With grace to enjoy all we have,
With courage to change the world.
Amen.
Lord,
13.) We feel so blessed to have been given such a wonderful family.
We ask that our roots would be deep in your love.
Fill our hearts, friendships and homes with your truth and forgiveness.
We thank you for each person, for their unique qualities and special characters.
Watch over each one and keep them safe,
Fill their lives with your goodness,
Inspire their hearts to follow you,
Bless the work of their hands,
And weave us all closer together.
Amen.
14.) Lord, thank you for walking with us through the seasons of our lives.
For the winter, when we are held safe in your arms through the darkness.
For the hope of spring, as we are filled with new promise and life.
For summer time, full of warmth and colour
And for autumn days as leaves fall to seed new growth.
You are always with us.
Amen.
15.) Lord, thank you for the flowers and thank you for the trees
Thank you for my special friends and all the fun they bring
Thank you for the food I eat and thank you for my drink
But most of all I thank you for the way you love me.
“The very quality of your life, whether you love it or hate it, is based upon how thankful you are toward God. It is one's attitude that determines whether life unfolds into a place of blessedness or wretchedness. Indeed, looking at the same rose bush, some people complain that the roses have thorns while others rejoice that some thorns come with roses. It all depends on your perspective.
This is the only life you will have before you enter eternity. If you want to find joy, you must first find thankfulness. Indeed, the one who is thankful for even a little enjoys much. But the unappreciative soul is always miserable, always complaining. He lives outside the shelter of the Most High God.
